As the colors of fall settle into our town and the surrounding hills, you'll enjoy walking the park, taking in the colors and textures ...........all inspiration for the process of making of a very personal winter garment.  Our teaching focus in this 5-day retreat  will be Jackets, Coats and Leather Detailing & Accessories. A graduate of Ryerson's Fashion Design program, Kathryn  opened The Academy of Fine Sewing and Design in North Bay, Ontario, Canada in 2000. She is a pattern designer, founding member and past president of the Canadian Professional Sewing Association. A frequent contributor to Vogue Patterns, THREADS, and Butterick Home Catalogue magazines, Kathryn has also appeared in episodes of Sew Much More on Home & Garden Television (HGTV). 
As a passionate teacher, Kathryn founded The Academy to help the home sewer achieve success by providing professional instruction and techniques in a fully equipped facility. She has many years of experience working with private clientele in menswear and ladies fashion. Kathryn is currently a contributing editor and pattern designer at Vogue Patterns magazine.
