On this page, we will share our surface design tips and printing ideas and those of enthusiastic customers. Do you know about a new paint product?.or have used you stencil on a new surface with great results?! You can also share with other stenciling enthusiasts on the message board. We look forward to hearing from you and sharing your artistry!

stenciled fabric samples

Stencil Design Feature: Here's a collection of stenciled fabrics all created from the same stencil: Calla Lillies# 9 (actual stencil shown here on black in middle of photo). As you can see, there is a lot of variety possible- no matter what the image on the stencil is.

The first printing puts the stencil shapes together in a bouquet. On the second piece of fabric: the small shape in the corner of the stencil has been used as a repeat to make a border, with the rest of the surface design created by only printing part of the stencil each time....a stem or a piece of leaf here and there. The third printing has a different feel and was created by laying strips of paper on the printing surface first. Next, the whole stencil sheet was laid on top and printed as is- then moved and printed again without moving the paper strips until the end. If you relate to this third design most, you may not have chosen the Calla Lillies stencil to work with-remember it's all about pattern, shape and amount of detail. So whether it's a leaf, bug or alphabet letter.....you can continue to create new and innovative design with ANY stencil!

As you can see, color plays a big part of how the printed surface 'reads'......so you will want to experiment with different color combinations as you play!

asian flairHere, a design with an Asian flair has been created using some shapes from the Brush Alphabet #21 and a wing from the Wingz #22 stencil. It would look great on a pocket with cuffs and collar to match!

Remember to send me a photo of your creative stenciling play with a description so I can share it here!
