| This wing back chair is the perfect canvas for a patchwork type application of stencils. I am using bits of lots of different stencils to embellish the surface of this stuffed chair. I am getting the air-brushed kind of effect by using a sponge as I apply the paint...rubbing and blending several colors At a time. I am using masking tape to block out the area I want to work on...even around the piping and other edges. The acrylic based paints are perfect for this and will stay soft and wear well. I plan to make a skirt for the chair...and I will print that fabric first. I will Scotchguard the chair at the end as a protective finish...and maybe some ornament of some kind across the top. I have a pair of these chairs to do...and I can already see I want the other one to look totally different! |
