Fall Greetings from my studio!  I am looking forward
to sharing my design process, discoveries and updates on workshops
and products with you. As I begin this
journey…it is somewhat like committing to an exercise process:
it just has to become something I do as a routine.
So, this is where
I am starting….just jumping in, creating
the discipline of writing every day. My plan is to send out what I will refer
to as STARTS, every few weeks… maybe once a week when I
am warmed up to the process. So there- this feels
like the launching: an official notice….the
kick-off!
In some ways, this is the perfect day for the launch, because
I have spent most of the morning thinking about my son, Miles,
who at 21 is boarding the Queen Elizabeth ll in New York harbor –TODAY-(right
about now in fact), with my dad for a trip across the Atlantic
to England!!!! I can only imagine the incredible memories unfolding
as he sets sail with his grandfather for this trip of a lifetime.
I am enjoying being at the edges and sharing the stories that
will filter my way in the coming weeks. After spending a week
onboard, and 2 weeks on land, they’ll be sailing back at
the end of November. Oh… to be a fly on the wall! So, on to the STARTS-
Something new I want to share, is my collaboration with Barb Alexander of Batik Butik, a Canadian company manufacturing batiks
in Bali. Although she is a wholesale distributor, you might enjoy

will also be available in some of your favorite fabric
stores. She has just created the
first limited edition
of a collection of Batiks using my stencil designs! This was great fun to do…and I am
looking forward to the next round of prints already. The colors
are lovely.
We have 4 different color ways with 2 designs and they all have a companion textured
piece to compliment the stencil design piece. Here are photos of the batiks I have right now.

I have stenciled over for a more personal look. Over-printing is also a way to change
the flavor of the color palette. I loved using the same designs
the fabric was printed with and also pulling together other images to create a theme
